I’m back, hoping that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are kicking the holiday season off right!
My husband Dave and I went to New York for 4 days, then “swung by” his sister Beth’s house outside of Philadelphia for Thanksgiving. What a relaxing holiday! During the trip, I received the news that my solo piano composition, “Twilight Interlude”, which will be on my upcoming CD release next month, won first prize in the Florida League of Pen Women 2009 Music Competition. I feel tremendously honored, knowing that the competition is always very stiff.
I have been in the recording studio this past week, recording my January 2010 CD release. All of you will absolutely LOVE it…I feel so good about it. It certainly has been a long time coming, but when it’s right, it’s really right. Your instinct is the most reliable thing you have, and I trusted myself to know that up until now, it wasn’t the right time to release a recording. I wanted to give my listeners a recording that I myself would absolutely HAVE to have…and this is it. I have been listening to the pre-mixes in my car CD player the whole weekend, over and over again, really enjoying what I hear. I can’t wait for you to hear it, too!
I will have information over the next week or so about the “official” release date (when it will be available on CD Baby and Amazon.com). If you are in the Orlando area, I will be performing some of the tracks at the Orlando Museum of Art on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 6:30 in the evening, as part of their “First Thursday” program. Please come to listen…I would love to see you. The CD will be available for purchase there, as part of the “unofficial” pre-relase.
More notes from my corner of the planet later….Christine
